Brady

Boy does this boy love to read. Any given time I go look for him, he is either watching Drews favorite show with him (such a good brother), or reading a book. He loves to read and can read a book in about 2 days at this point. I am happy he loves to read as much as he does. He has to read 4 books a marking period for school and he is on his 10th. GOOD JOB Brade :)

OH SO CUTE!

Lifehouse

I got to see Lifehouse in concert @ Roseland Ballroom in NYC on April 1st. It was a great show. Opening act was a guy called Matt Nathanson. I loved him. I went home and downloaded tons of his stuff off Limewire and made a cd for my car. He was awesome. Lifehouse was great. It was a long time to stand and my feet hurt like there are not words to describe wo using explitives, so.... It was a good time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tanner

I cannot believe I have a 14 year old. WOW! Time sure flies. I had originally planned on taking him to his first concern in NYC for his birthday. I purchased the tickets then looked online and read that the minimum age was 16. I was bummed, so I am celebrating Tanner's Birthday by going to a concert! HA HA. We will celebrate his tomorrow night.

I got up early and made him a nice breakfast of pancakes and eggs and sent him off to school. I will give him his presents today after school before I take them to their dad.

March Catch Up

Not a whole lot has transpired, although a few things worth writing about are as follows: I applied to nursing school. I got all my transcripts sent over to the school of my choice. That was a feat in itself. Colleges make it near impossible to do such. With the help of a friend (thanks R) I was able to get that done in a timely fashion. I then went to campus and met with the nursing director and had a nice 90 minute chat with her. She is very nice and made me feel very confident that I can do this, even as a single mom. She said it will of course require a lot of hard work, and some outside help, but thankfully I have good friends, a decent Ex hub, and Tina here to help out a bit longer. I am nervous beyond words. It is always such a scary thing stepping outside your comfort zone, but I am also very excited to be embarking on this new chapter of my life. I took Drew to campus with me as my security blanket, and everyone who met him loved him. One lady who I met with took him under her wing for nearly an hour while I spoke privately with the director. She said I was blessed beyond measure to have such a sweet boy. That made me feel wonderful. He truly is a sweetie pie...most days. I took my application home that day and began the process of filling it out.

I then spoke with Rex in length about my child care concerns for Drew Drew while I would be out of the home for 2 years. He was more than receptive to my ideas and gave me the impression that he was on board to help. I hope Drew will be ok there for 10 hrs a day. UGH! That thought makes me ill... I cannot even think about it, but as I've been reminded on several occasions it is normal, and kids have been doing this for decades and he will be just fine. I certainly hope so, as my boys are my first priority.

I applied, wrote my essay, and wrote the registration fee check. I was given my entrance exam test date which is April 10th. I purchased the test study guide online and anxiously awaited its arrival in the mail. I received it and was a bit taken back when I looked through the book. I then went to B&N and purchased several other study guides and self help books on the subjects of chemistry, biology, algebra, life science, and earth science. It has been challenging studying again and trying to retain all the knowledge I am learning, but it has also been exciting. I am currently trying to push my test date back even a week to get in some extra study time. I am waiting for a return call from the director.

On the lighter side, I turned 36. HOLY CRAP! I feel old, but also quite young. I had a nice dinner out and a cake made for me to celebrate with the boys.
