Brady has signed up for cross country his freshman year of high school. He has been training all summer, but running and increasing his distance. Last week to test his endurance and speed, I entered him in a local 5K. He registered @ 6:00 and got his bib number #115, and we were there and ready for the starting whistle. We manuevered around the area and got to see him 4 different times. He did very well. He finished in just under 31:00. He wanted to do better and probably would have had he not been feeling sick that day, poor kid. Pictures arent great due to my crappy camera.

BBQ Suddenly Gone Bad

Who invented the umbrella?

WHATEVER!

This started out as a great day! It is the annual balloon festival weekend. We'd been swimming, lounging, playing. We start to bbq, got the coals ready, got the food on, then suddenly the heavens opened. So as to not waste the burgers, dogs, and corn, I popped the umbrella open, moved it and stood outside another 20 minutes to finish the food. After dinner, some of the kids (including me) hopped in the pool which was warmer than the air outside, so it was like being in a spa. The pool was steaming, we could see our breath, it was hilarious. As soon as the lightning started, we hopped right out and ran for cover.
