The Sad facts about Mother Nature
One afternoon last week, this poor fawn was found next to/ under my neighbors car. Apparently after a mother gives birth, she leaves the baby for 24 hours to go recover and relax or what have you. My friend called the Police to find out what to do, and he said we should NOT touch the deer. Explained the process of things after the birth and said the poor deer here get cars confused with bushes bc there is little space left for them. Cop said if the deer was still there the next morning to call and they would come get it. Thankfully the deer was gone in the morning, so the mom did come back and get her baby.

The Cure of a Lifetime
For those of you who do not love, or are not obsessed with music like I am, you may not fully grasp what I am about to say.... but here goes. I saw THE CURE in concert!! This truly was one of the most amazing nights of my life. There are a few bands still left in this world that ROCK and that will always rock, and The Cure are one of them. It is truly sickening that they have NOT been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. They are the MOST influential band in the history of alternative music! If they let The Police in... why not The Cure? The Cure are and forever will be "The New Wave Goth Giants". They have influenced so many bands. This band shaped my world as a teenager. Popping in one of their CD's brings back so many feeling, emotions, and memories. What a great time in life; mid 80's - early 90's.
THIRTY + years later and these guys sound as good as ever, if not better LIVE! I was completely blown away. The song list was phenomenal. Couldn't have asked for better. Robert Smith is alive and well, and still kicking ass at 50. All Hail Robert Smith.....

Fun for Mommy & Drew
Drew and I went on a shopping spree at home Depot. We looked at all the flowers and Drew chose the pink and purple ones (impatients). He also chose a beautiful Hibiscus (orange flowers). We also planted cucumbers, tomatoes, and got a nice crimson red rose bush. We had fun planting together. He also enjoys watering them, but no need today as it has been raining for 2 days now.
Muffins For Mom
On Wednesday night I had the pleaseure of attending "Muffins For Mom" with Andrew at preschool. We all had muffins, tea, milk and donuts. They had a mini program where they sang songs for us, and recited a poem. It was the sweetest thing ever. The kids made presents for us as well; a chocolate lolipop, and a great little heart shaped ornament with a poem. It was the best night ever; simply the BEST.

I Did It....
For those who don't already know, I passed my entrance exam and received my "offical" acceptance letter in to the nursing program. I start school in the fall of 2008. I am so excited. I was very nervous about the 4 hour test, and even went away thinking I did not do very well. For starters, I ran out of time on the math portion and could not finish the last 5 questions; the test shut down and booted me out. I was so upset. There were several questions in the chemistry portion I could not answer, but guessed. After I completed the test, it took me to a screen that showed my immediate results. Apparently I misunderstood the scoring procedure and thought I had failed. I was livid, after studying 5-6 hours a day, more on weekends, for the last 6 weeks. I basically had no life. Long story short...I called my Director and spoke to her about my scores and she reassured me I did just fine, but could not tell me anything specific. So, I waited anxiously for 2 weeks for my letter in the mail. I almost died when I opened it. I am so excited to have the opportunity to do this. I cannot wait to be able to help people in this capacity. It will be like an extension of my being a mom, which I enjoy. I really want to do something everyday that I can be proud of; to lay down and night and be able to say, I helped someone today is important to me.
I have been in the hospital quite a bit over the last 14 years, 3 deliveries, 2 surgeries, and I have had some wonderful nurses and I would like to chance to help others have a nice comfortable stay when they are not feeling well and scared. My week long stay for my gallbladder removal surgery was the scariest time of my life. I would not wish that pain on my worst enemy (pretty sure...)and I had some really great, very caring nurses, and they really do make all the difference in the world when you are there for days on end.
Last summer, when I had the opportunity to give long term care to my friend after her surgery is when I really decided this is what I wanted to do. Being in the hospital with her daily for a week was awesome. I talked to all the nurses, watched them intently and really enjoyed all the procedures. When the home care nurse came in and showed me how to administer all her meds and care for and cleanse wounds I was hooked. I loved opening all the packages, the syringes, the medicine bottles, and filling the syringes...I had a blast, even though I was dog tired from the lack of sleep doing this every 6 hours around the clock.
I am so excited also, because the kids are excited for me. Drew cannot wait for mommy to work in a hospital. He talks about it all the time. The boys have been really supportive and amazing. I hope to make them proud.
